Veneers in Schiedam and Rotterdam: for a natural smile
Facings are thin veneers on the front of a tooth. They can improve the shape, color, or position of a tooth. At 3D Tandarts, we design facings digitally, tailored to your face, teeth, and preferences. First, we carefully assess whether facings are suitable for you and what alternatives are available.

What are veneers?
A veneer is a thin layer of composite or ceramic that is attached to a tooth. Veneers can be a solution in cases such as:
- broken or uneven teeth
- discoloration that does not go away with bleaching
- small spaces between the teeth
- wear at the front of the teeth
Composite or ceramic?
Composite veneers are usually quicker to make and sometimes easier to repair. Ceramic veneers generally retain their color better and wear down less. The dentist explains what suits your situation.
How do we work?
- Examination and discussion: we assess your teeth, gums, bite, and wishes.
- Digital scan and design: with an intraoral scan and photos, we create a digital design, so that you can see and discuss what is possible. If necessary, we first make a trial model.
- Preparation and placement: the tooth is minimally prepared, after which the veneer is made and attached.
- Check-up and aftercare: we check the fit, bite, and your oral hygiene.
During preparation, the gums may sometimes bleed. When necessary, we limit this with the laser, for a dry working area and precise result.
What should you pay attention to?
- For a veneer, the enamel often needs to be ground down slightly.
- Do you grind or clench your teeth? Then we advise a night guard to protect the veneers.
- Veneers require good oral care and regular check-ups.
- How long veneers last varies depending on the situation and material.
What do veneers cost in Schiedam?
The costs depend on the number of veneers, the material, and the complexity. You will receive a clear estimate in advance. Veneers are usually a cosmetic treatment and are generally not reimbursed.
Alternatives to veneers
Depending on your preference, another treatment may be more suitable: whitening, aligners, a composite filling, or a crown. The dentist will discuss the pros and cons of each option.

Frequently asked questions
Veneers
Are veneers suitable for everyone?
No. That depends on your teeth, gums, and bite. The dentist will assess this after an examination.
Can I see the result in advance?
Where possible, we work with a digital design or trial model so you can discuss what you want. The final result may differ slightly.
Can I whiten my teeth first?
Yes. If you choose both whitening and veneers, it is wise to whiten first, because veneers do not change color.
How long do veneers last?
That varies depending on the situation and material. Good oral care, check-ups, and protection against grinding help.
