What happens during express dental hygiene?

  • Oral hygiene: we check for plaque or tartar.
  • Gums: we look at whether the gums bleed and how healthy they are.
  • Cleaning and polishing: where needed, we clean your teeth within the available time.

You also receive practical tips for daily care. Is a more extensive examination or treatment necessary? Then we discuss it with you and, if needed, schedule a follow-up appointment.

Who is express dental hygiene for?

  • Commuters, professionals, students, and expats
  • People with bleeding gums
  • Anyone who wants a “quick” check-up and cleaning
  • Also if you are (not yet) a regular patient with us

Duration and cost of the dental cleaning

Every appointment begins with a short consultation. This is always included and forms the minimum fee. If cleaning is necessary, it is charged per 5 minutes according to the fixed NZa rates. The appointment lasts on average about 20 minutes and a maximum of 30 minutes. The total cost for check-up and cleaning averages around €95. Whether and how much you are reimbursed depends on your supplementary dental insurance. Feel free to check this with your insurer.

Frequently asked questions

Dental Hygiene Express

Does it hurt?

Usually not. If your gums are sensitive or inflamed, the cleaning may be somewhat uncomfortable. We work carefully and pay attention to your comfort.

Can I come without being registered?

Yes. The Dental Hygiene Express is specifically intended as a low-threshold appointment, even if you are not a regular patient.

Are X-rays needed?

For the check-up of gums and oral hygiene and for the cleaning itself, usually not. Only if there is a reason to look further, we discuss that with you first.

Is this reimbursed?

That depends on your supplementary dental insurance.

What if more time is needed?

Then we discuss that directly with you. Where possible, we extend the treatment in consultation, or we schedule a follow-up appointment.

Does this replace a full dental check-up?

No. The Express is intended for maintenance. For a comprehensive check-up, you can schedule an intake.
